WPT Global Fall Festival Schedule Released

As has become customary, some of the five key events, the ‘majors’ are very recognisable tournaments, as three of them are online versions on famous World Poker Tour events. These five majors have a combined $2.8million in guarantees;

Players who participate in at least 30 tournaments during the Fall Festival will be entered into the end-of-series $50,000 Guaranteed Fall Festival Freeroll, which takes place on 6 October.

Start with up to 15,000 additional chips via the PLO Top Up promotion, which involves playing PLO cash games at $0.10/$0.20 (USD) or higher. For every 200 100 hands played, players receive an additional 200 starting chips in the freerooll, up to a maximum of 15,000 (for playing 7,500 PLO cash game hands).

Making day 2 in all the majors is a pretty tall task and its quite likely that nobody achieves it. Even making day 2 in four of them is something that nobody might achieve. But that’s not the only ‘unlikely to happen’ bonus prize that WPT Global has assigned to the Fall Festival. 

Any player (or players) who wins four events during the Fall Festival will earn a $12,400 WPT Passport. Even without looking at stats from previous festivals, this is a pretty tall order and will most likely not be achieved by any player. 

Nevertheless, that hasn’t stopped WPT Global from extending the prizes even further, as players who win more than four events will pocket a further $5,000 in tournament tickets for every extra event won. 

Although the day 2 and multi-winner bonuses are nice prizes, both of these offers are ‘pie-in-the-sky’ promotions which most of the time will not have any winners. These promotions are however not the main reasons to play in the festival, as the soft level of competition and highly probably overlays are much more compelling reasons to take part.

There were over $1m in overlays during the $8m guaranteed Summer Festival and there could be plenty this time as well. The biggest single overlay was in the $1,060 WPT Prime Championship, which missed its $750k guarantee by $115k. The WPT Prime Championship at the Fall Festival has the same $750k guarantee, but how big will the overlay be this time?
