While the "free" in freeroll usually implies no strings attached, WPT Global is adding exclusivity to its latest weekend schedule. From now through April 5, 2026, the platform is hosting two weekly $10K Elite Freerolls, targeting its player base across Canada and Europe.
The events, scheduled for Saturdays at 17:05 UTC and Sundays at 13:05 UTC, provide a niche opportunity for players to compete for a five-figure prize pool without the standard tournament entry fee. However, unlike the "all-in" madness often found in public freerolls, these seats are reserved for players who top up their accounts during the week.
The Casino Coin Pivot
In an interesting twist on the standard payout structure, all prizes in these events are distributed in Casino Coin. Rather than adding cash directly to a poker bankroll, winners are directed toward the WPT Global Casino.
For the savvy player, this functions as a "freeroll within a freeroll." Winners use the coins to play casino titles for free, but importantly, any winnings derived from those games are credited as withdrawable cash.
Qualification and Thresholds
WPT Global has opted for a cumulative deposit system for this promotion, meaning players don't need to commit their funds in a single transaction. As long as the thresholds are met between Monday (00:00 UTC) and Saturday (23:59 UTC), the tickets are automatically issued:
- The $30 Tier: A total weekly deposit of $30 earns one ticket to an Elite Freeroll.
- The $100 Tier: Total deposits of $100 or more grant a second ticket, allowing entry into both the Saturday and Sunday events.
