PHNOM PENH – The World Poker Tour is set to make a massive splash in Southeast Asia early next year, returning to the luxurious NagaWorld Integrated Resort for WPT Cambodia 2026.
Running from January 21 to February 9, 2026, the festival promises to be bigger and better, featuring a $3.5 million total series guarantee, which is a significant bump that reflects the tour's growing popularity in the region. For players looking to fill their calendars, here is everything you need to know about the upcoming series.
The Crown Jewels: Championship Events
The schedule is anchored by two massive Championship events that are sure to draw elite fields from across the globe:
- WPT Prime Cambodia Championship (Jan 30 – Feb 3): This $1,100 buy-in event features a $750,000 guarantee. It utilizes a multi-flight format, giving players several chances to build a stack for Day 2.
- WPT Cambodia Championship (Feb 4 – Feb 9): The crown jewel of the series comes with a $3,500 buy-in and a massive $1.5 million guarantee. Danny McDonagh, the tour's renowned tournament director, noted that this event offers "the strongest WPT structure globally at this buy-in level," featuring 90-minute levels from Day 2 onwards to ensure deep-stack play at the most critical stages.
Something for Everyone: From Daily Stacks to Super High Rollers
WPT Cambodia isn't just for the Main Event grinders. The 2026 schedule has been carefully curated to offer action at every bankroll level.
- For the Early Birds: A new addition for 2026 is the $250 Early Bird Megastack, starting at 10:00 AM. It complements the returning $250 Megastack, which saw huge fields in 2025.
- High Rollers: The festival includes 15 High Roller events, with buy-ins ranging from $1,650 up to the $20,000 Super High Roller and a $10,000 Single Day Challenge. A new $2,200 "Survivor" format has also been added, where the final 20% of the field instantly wins a $4,000 bounty chip.
- PLO & Variants: Pot-Limit Omaha enthusiasts will find events running almost daily, featuring mix-ups like 5-Card PLO, Big O, and Double Board Bomb Pot variants.
Refined Schedule & More Satellites
According to Danny McDonagh, the 2026 schedule is a mix of "continuity and adjustment." While popular events like the $600 Championship Warm Up return, the satellite program has been vastly expanded.
Unlike previous years where satellites were focused mainly on the Main Events, players can now win their way into eight additional tournaments, including High Rollers. In total, 84 Championship entries are guaranteed via satellites.
