Benjamin Rolle, better known online as “bencb789,” is an English professional poker player, coach and one of the most successful online tournament specialists of his generation. His reputation was built almost entirely online.
For years, the bencb789 screen name was familiar to high-stakes tournament regulars long before Rolle became a prominent public figure. He played many of the largest online MTTs available and developed a reputation for competing comfortably against the strongest tournament fields.
One of the defining early results came in the 2014 Spring Championship of Online Poker. Rolle collected $243,367 in SCOOP 22-H after reaching a four-way deal, giving him one of his first major six-figure tournament scores.
Two years later, he produced the result that firmly established bencb789 among online poker's elite.
The 2016 WCOOP schedule included a $102,000 Super High Roller, at the time the largest buy-in tournament ever held online. Twenty-eight entries created a $2.8 million prize pool.
Rolle reached heads-up play against Fedor “CrownUpGuy” Holz, with the pair making a deal before playing for the remaining money and title. Rolle eventually won the tournament for $1,172,461.
Away from playing, Rolle became equally well known as a poker coach.
He founded Raise Your Edge, which developed into one of the better-known training platforms for tournament poker. Rolle's Tournament Masterclass and other MTT-focused material helped turn his playing reputation into a substantial coaching brand.
Rolle continued putting up major online results after the WCOOP breakthrough.
At the 2020 EPT Online festival, he reached the final three of the $25,000 Super High Roller. Rolle finished third for $302,838.60 behind Christian Rudolph and winner Eelis Pärssinen.
He also won a GGPoker Super MILLION$ in 2021 for $424,850 and remained a regular in high-stakes online MTTs.
The WSOP Online Main Event then became a defining tournament in the later part of his career.
Rolle reached the final table in 2024, entering as the shortest stack and eventually finishing eighth for approximately $662,000. Rather than treating that as the end of the story, he returned one year later and went considerably further.
In 2025, Rolle entered the WSOP Online Main Event final table as chip leader. He navigated a field of 5,961 entries before defeating Anatoly Zlotnikov heads-up. The victory was worth $3,900,707 and delivered Rolle's first WSOP bracelet.
