Viktor “Isildur1” Blom is a Swedish professional poker player who became famous through enormous online cash games against players including Tom Dwan, Phil Ivey and Patrik Antonius. Biography
Long before Viktor Blom became a regular name on major live tournament leaderboards, poker players knew him simply as Isildur1.
The anonymous account appeared in Full Tilt Poker’s highest-stakes games in 2009 and immediately began battling players including Tom Dwan, Patrik Antonius, Phil Ivey and Brian Hastings. Blom’s willingness to play multiple heads-up tables and put enormous sums into action made Isildur1 one of the most talked-about names of the online poker boom.
His identity was eventually confirmed after he joined PokerStars, with Blom publicly revealed as the player behind Isildur1 around the 2011 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure.
Blom soon proved that the reputation he had built online could translate to live tournaments. In 2012, he won the $100,000 PCA Super High Roller for $1,254,400. Another major title followed in 2018 when he took down the partypoker MILLIONS Germany Main Event for more than $1 million.
His best live tournament run came at the 2024 WSOP, where he finished third in both the $50,000 and $100,000 No-Limit Hold’em High Rollers. The latter paid $1,311,091, the biggest live cash of his career.
In 2025, Blom joined Phenom Poker as an ambassador, bringing the Isildur1 name back into the spotlight in high-stakes online cash games. He has also become increasingly active in mixed-game tournaments, adding another dimension to a career that was originally built around heads-up NLHE and PLO.

The Isildur1 screen name became famous before most poker fans knew who Viktor Blom was. For more than a year, his identity was one of the biggest mysteries in online poker.
Blom’s Full Tilt battles with Tom Dwan became part of online poker folklore. At one stage, Isildur1 had reportedly won around $4 million from Dwan and built his overall profit above $5 million.
Those swings could reverse just as quickly. In December 2009, Brian Hastings won more than $4 million from Isildur1 in a single session, one of the largest documented online poker losses of the era.
Blom has more than $7.7 million in recorded live tournament earnings, placing him among Sweden’s most successful tournament players.
Despite numerous deep WSOP runs, he still has no bracelet. His 2024 WSOP alone produced more than $2.2 million in winnings from two third-place finishes in the $50,000 and $100,000 High Rollers.
His tournament range has expanded considerably over the years. Recent WSOP cashes have come in Big O, Omaha Hi-Lo, Triple Draw, 8-Game and other mixed formats rather than only the hold’em and PLO games associated with his early career.
Blom’s move to Phenom Poker created another classic Isildur1 storyline. In April 2026, Phenom reported that he turned a starting balance of 13,626 USDT into more than 1.75 million USDT over ten days of high-stakes cash-game action.
