GGPoker registers as gaming supplier in Michigan

The American online poker landscape has mostly been dominated by three brands in recent years. However, a new player may be entering the field after GGPoker recently registered as a foreign-owned company and gaming supplier with gaming authorities in theMichigan.

The platform is now registered in the Wolverine State under the poker operator’s parent company, NSUS Group. In recent years, GG has made similar moves in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, allowing the company to partner with other operators who might be interested in using the software platform.

The company now has a possible footprint in three of the country’s four markets, excluding Nevada.

Moving into the U.S. Market

GG has become the largest online poker operator in the world and players love the software experience on the international platform. The site offers unique promotions and tournaments as well as some large guaranteed prize pools.

Americans can play the ClubGG subscription poker option, which offers qualifiers to major live tournament events, but have mostly been shut out of accessing GGPoker.

That could change at some point if NSUS finds a partner, such as DraftKings or some other online gaming entity looking to add an online poker option.

In Canada, GG already partners with the World Series of Poker in the regulated province of Ontario. The company also offers the only official WSOP online qualifying outside of the U.S.

Registering in Michigan

GGPoker now at least has a footprint possibility in Michigan as well. The company filed with the Licensing and Regulatory Affairs division on March 27 and was approved for a license on April 3.

In all three states, the company is now in a position to license GG software to iGaming to other operators. If the company chooses to offer online poker on its own, GG would need to seek a license from state gaming control boards.

The American regulated online gaming market is currently dominated by WSOP.com, BetMGM/PartyPoker US, and PokerStars USA. There are also other social gaming and subscription poker  options like Global Poker and ClubWPT.
