The 2024 live poker calendar still isn’t complete, but is nicely taking shape. Several live poker operators have recently announced additional events for their 2024 schedules. Here are details of those new events, some of which are not even listed yet on live poker databases.

WSOPC Adds Events in Nottingham and Cannes

While the full schedule for this summer’s WSOP has not yet been revealed, it surely won’t be far away, as players will soon start preparing their plans for the summer. The World Series of Poker has been busy scheduling, with two previously unannounced festivals in Europe being to the mammoth tour’s International Circuit 2024 calendar. The two new events include WSOPC Nottingham, which takes place in March at Dusk Till Dawn, the UK’s largest poker venue. It features a £1,100 main event and an eleven event schedule, all of which are awarding WSOPC gold rings to the winners. The second additional event takes place one month later in the French Riviera city of Cannes with twelve gold ring events included and a €1,000 buy-in main event.

PokerStars Live Augments National Tour Schedules

PokerStars are notoriously slow with their announcements, but as someone who used to work at the PokerStars live events department, I’ll share a little secret about why this is the case. The main reason for this is that PokerStars Live does everything by the book, which means not cutting corners and crucially waiting for full legal and contractual sign off before announcing new seasons of tours. Negotiations with venues don’t take much time, but lawyers do. While this policy clearly hurts PokerStars as it tends to minimise the time they have to market events, it does ensure that all the legal questions have been thoroughly considered and enables the team to focus on the task of running and managing the events to the highest standard in the industry.

While there is still no news about the schedule’s of the APPT or the LAPT, PokerStars has recently released details of further stops on some of their national tours in Europe. Their national tours are mid-major series that feature a €1,000 buy-in main event and includes the France Poker Series (FPS), the UK & Ireland Poker Tour (UKIPT), the Estrellas Poker Tour (Spain) and the Eureka Poker Tour (everywhere else in Europe). They run the European Poker Tour events as combined stops with a national tour main event and sides kicking off each festival, before the higher stakes tournaments take place. The national tour stops that are linked with the EPT events were already known, but they have now augmented the Estrellas and Eureka tours with additional stops for 2024.

Estrellas Poker Tour

In addition to the already known stop in Barcelona, two further Estrellas Poker Tour (ESPT) festivals in Madrid and Malaga have been added to the 2024 season. Both have previously hosted ESPT events before. Each festival will feature a €1,000 buy-in main event and several side events.

Eureka Poker Tour

We already knew about the Eureka Poker Tour events in Cyprus and Prague as those are linked with EPT events, but now a second stop in Czechia has been included in this year’s schedule. The new addition sees the tour return in March to one of its favourite locations, Kings Casino, Rozvadov, which houses Europe’s largest poker room. As per the Estrellas Poker Tour, each stop on the Eureka Tour will feature a €1,000 buy-in main event and several side events.

Also part of the PokerStars Live stable of tours is the Brazilian Series of Poker, which has announced its calendar for 2024. The long running tour holds its first event of the year in Sao Paulo and has a further four stops throughout the year, including the year ending BSOP Millions.

Kings Series of Poker

Another poker tour that exists in Brazil is the Kings Series of Poker. Sponsored by GG Poker, the tour has been in operation for over ten years, but had had little visibility outside Brazil. Their first event of the year was held in Rio de Janeiro at the end of January/beginning of February and with R$50m in guarantees, attracted a large field for its main event. The tour has a further four stops already announced for 2024.
