The Festival in Rozvadov
The Festival Series in Rozvadov Begins this Week at Kings Casino

The start of the World Series of Poker is always of great interest to the poker community and much of the industry’s media will be focusing solely on the happenings in Las Vegas. In that respect, PokerWired is no different, we are hugely interested in the WSOP and will be delivering news, results and stories throughout the series. However we are also still interested in events taking place in Europe over the summer, not least The Festival in Rozvadov, Czech Republic, which kicks-off Europe’s summer of poker, starting on Friday 31st May and running until June 9th at Kings Casino. The Festival in Rozvadov includes 65 events on its packed schedule and is about so much more than just the poker.

The Festival is an innovative poker tour, blending poker tournaments and cash games with a variety of other competitive gaming competitions and fun off-the-felt activities. Kings Casino is the largest poker venue in Europe and has hosted many major international events, including the World Series of Poker Europe, which has taken up residence at the Czech venue since 2017.

This is the first time that The Festival has held an event in Rozvadov and it is much anticipated, with hundreds of players having won their seats in satellites on multiple online poker sites, including Unibet Poker and Grosvenor Poker. The Festival Rozvadov Main Event is a €500+€50 buy-in tournament which runs from 5-9th June and has a €500,000 guaranteed prize pool. It includes six starting days.

There are almost forty events to get through before the first starting day of Main Event begins, including a wide variety of game formats and buy-ins ranging from €115 to €1,100. At the sub-€100 buy-in level there are plenty of satellites throughout the 10-day festival, offering a cheaper way to claim your seat into many of the key events on the schedule.

Coverage of The Festival in Rozvadov can be found on tour's official website and on their various social media channels.

The Festival in Rozvadov Highlights

While The Festival is not just a poker event, the action on the felt is still the main reason why the event exists and   the big tournaments on the schedule are the main attraction. These include:

  • €250 The Hendon Mob Championship with €200,000 guaranteed

Side events are also important and there is at wide range of these to choose from, with non-Hold’em and mixed games formats scheduled every day, as tournaments and cash games. Formats that feature on the schedule include:

  • No Limit Hold’em
  • H.O.R.S.E
  • Crazy Pineapple
  • Sviten Special
  • Pot Limit Omaha (various, including 4, 5 and 6 card PLO games)
  • 8-Game
  • Half ’n’ Half NLH/PLO Mixed

There is even a senior’s No Limit Hold'em event, open only to players who are at least 50 years old and a ladies tournament, called Festival Queens. Casino games also feature on the event schedule and includes Blackjack, Roulette, and Slots tournaments.

Live-streamed cash games and challenges take place on most days until June 7, after which the TV table coverage will focus on the main event. The live stream can be viewed on The Festival's Twitch and YouTube channels.

There is a lounge area at the back of the main tournament arena, where players can relax and where hospitality events that are open to all will be hosted throughout the festival. These include a daily flip and go poker competition at 8pm called Franke’s Flip Flops, plus pool and shuffleboard challenges.

The Festival features Parties, karaoke, sports competitions and treasure hunts. If you’re looking for a poker festival with a difference and aren’t headed to Las Vegas yet, The Festival in Rozvadov could be the perfect way to launch into a summer of live poker.
