WPT Spring Festival Online Series, New Main Tour Cruise

The World Poker Tour has announced a major online series and new cruise

WPT Global is set to host the Spring Festival with $1.25 million in guarantees across 84 tournaments from May 21 to June 4. WPT World Championship Passports are also up for grabs during the series.

The Spring Festival is highlighted by the $1,100 WPT Prime Main Event, running from May 29 – June 4. The winner of the Main Event also receives a seat to the 2023 WPT World Championship at Wynn Las Vegas. Commenting on the new series, WPT CEO Adam Pliska said:

“When WPT Global launched, we knew it would become the best place for players to participate in WPT events online. The WPT Global Spring Festival gives players around the world the opportunity to win a WPT500 and WPT Prime title without having to leave their home.”

In other news, the WPT also announced a new Main Tour cruise launching in spring 2024.

Other highlights from the series

Along with the WPT Prime, the WPT500 is another key highlight. That event features numerous starting flights throughout the series as well as a $55 mini version.

The series also features a broad range of buy-ins and starts at just $5.50. Playera will find numerous tournament styles as well including turbos, progressive knockouts (PKO), six-max, bounties, and much more.

Another highlight is the Champion of Champions freeroll, set for June 11. The events features winners from all other events competing for a WPT World Championship tournament seat.

Another freeroll is planned for June 11, open for all players making a final table throughout the Spring Festival. The tournament awards a $2,500 WPT Prime Championship Passport.

A specially-designed WPT award will also be awarded to the Prime, WPT500, and Champion of Champions winners. Here’s a look at the complete schedule.

WPT Main Tour Event Coming to Virgin Cruise

In other tour news, a WPT Main Tour event is heading to the high seas in spring 2024. The tour is partnering with Virgin Voyages for six days of action featuring $1.5 million in guarantees along with a WPT Prime event as well. Of the new poker option, Pliska noted:

“Virgin Voyages has totally re-imagined the cruising experience, and their ideals perfectly align with the evolution of WPT in our commitment to build unique memories for poker players across the globe. The WPT Voyage will elevate an already amazing onboard experience with world-class poker and entertainment, creating one of the most fun and sought after events on the calendar.”

The series takes place on the 1,400-cabin Valiant Lady, catering to passengers age 18 and over. The voyage sets sail from Miami on March 31 with stops in Grand Cayman and Bimini, Bahamas, before returning to port on April 6.

"Hosting the World Poker Tour at Sea is an industry first and bringing the Main Tour experience to Valiant Lady is very exciting," Virgin Voyages CEO Tom McAplin said. "This partnership fits nicely into our adult-only experience, and we're honored to have one of our ships as the main stage for this exciting tournament."

WPT cruise 2023 — The Virgin Voyages Valiant Lady will host an upcoming WPT Main Tour and Prime event.

Players will find more than 80 poker tables and a major tournament schedule including The $5,000 Main Tour event features a $1 million guarantee and the $1,100 Prime tournament comes with a $500,000 guarantee. Other highlights include:

Mystery Bounty tournament
Numerous cash games

Onboard entertainment includes immersive shows, night clubs, private karaoke rooms, a tattoo parlor, and pub games and trivia nights. The Valiant Lady also offers more than 20 boutique restaurants.

While docked in the Caribbean, numerous land and sea-based excursions will be available such as kayaking, snorkeling, cultural tours, and even a golf tournament in Grand Cayman hosted by WPT executive tour director Matt Savage.
