Manig Loeser Interview 2026 June

BCPoker announced you as its new Global Ambassador in May 2026. Why was this the right partnership for you at this stage of your career?

I was in talks with many different poker sites, and I had to find a partnership with a team that I could trust to act ethically and help become one of the leading sites in the industry. When I was introduced to the BCPoker team, I had the feeling that this could be exactly the type of partnership I was looking for, one that puts players first and genuinely wants the best for them.
Considering the publicly known issue/s you had with other online operators, what parameters are you looking at when you partner up with online brands?

Well, it wasn't 'operators' it was just one. That was enough for me to lose a lot of faith in the industry as a whole, though. If a site can get away with scamming people and still operate at that level due to greed, it paints a very grim picture for the future of online poker.

That's why it was so important for me to choose the right partnership. I believe BCPoker is a safe place for people to play, and I will promote it as such.
You have built an impressive career with more than $12 million in recorded live tournament earnings and results across many different eras of poker. What still drives you to compete and stay involved at this level?

I really enjoy playing, and I love the thrill of competing against the best. At the same time, I also enjoy playing low-stakes tournaments with no pressure, having a good time, and enjoying fun conversations at the table. That’s why you can see cashes in both $200 and $100k buy-ins on my Hendon Mob profile.

Poker is an amazing game, and some of the best connections I’ve made in life started at the poker table.
Your results show not only big wins, but also a long run of consistent cashes over many years. How do you keep your focus sharp when poker has changed so much around you?

It has definitely changed immensely. I remember the days when there were no solvers and you could only learn through books or by discussing hands with your friends.

Many old-school players are still stuck in that era, which is why they can no longer compete at the highest level. I try to learn every day, and I’m lucky that some of the best players in the world are my friends and help me continue to improve.
When you look back at your career so far, what do you think has mattered more: technical study, emotional control, experience, or simply staying hungry?

For me personally, emotional control has been incredibly important, and it’s something many people struggle with

I was fortunate enough to work with some amazing mental coaches throughout my career, and bad beats or downswings never affected me too much.

Experience is also a major factor, especially for someone like me who relies heavily on live tells and often deviates from solver-approved decisions based on reads.
You have played poker in many parts of the world, including more traditional poker hubs and less obvious destinations. How do you compare the atmosphere & venue quality in places like Uruguay, Argentina and Taiwan with more established poker cities?

I absolutely love playing in Uruguay and Argentina. After buying an apartment in Buenos Aires a few years ago and starting to play more in that part of the world, I really got to experience the unique poker culture in South America. You’ll see people sharing mate, chatting, laughing, and genuinely enjoying each other’s company while still competing hard.

I also went to Taiwan to play the APT and had an incredible time there with my Asian friends.
From your experience, how does the competition in South America and Asia compare with the bigger European and Las Vegas fields? Are the games different in style, rhythm or player pool quality?

Every poker stop has a completely different player pool, and that’s what makes it so fun for me. The styles, tendencies, and overall atmosphere vary from region to region, so adapting is always part of the challenge.
What makes a poker city memorable to you: the games, the people, the organisation, the nightlife, or something else? Anything specific you can share with us, off-the-felt experience?

The people, for sure.

I also enjoy walking around and exploring the cities I visit. Often, locals will show me around, which makes the experience even more special. Nightlife used to be very important to me when I was younger. Nowadays I only go out occasionally, but it’s still fun!

Most people connect you with No Limit Hold’em. Away from Texas Hold’em, are there any other poker variants you genuinely enjoy playing?

I love playing PLO. I used to play in a lot of private PLO games, and it was incredibly fun for me.
I’ve also dabbled in mixed games, although I wouldn’t say I’m particularly skilled at them.

Maybe I’ll play some again at the WSOP!
BCPoker is often described as a crypto focused poker platform. From a player’s point of view, what matters most when judging a modern online poker site: game quality, liquidity, rake, withdrawals, security or transparency?

Security and transparency.

Of course, that assumes all the other fundamentals are in order as well.
One of the first things BCPoker approached me about was lowering the rake, and that’s exactly what we did a few weeks ago.

It’s now significantly lower than many competitors’ rake structures.

The game quality has been excellent. I’ve played so many hands exclusively on BCPoker over the last few weeks that I can confidently say that. Withdrawals have also arrived instantly for me across different chains.
For players who know your name from results but have not followed your day to day poker life, what can they expect from you as part of the BCPoker community?

I’ll promote the site at Triton, EPT, and other live stops, play regularly on the platform, create content, and get back into streaming as well.

I’m very excited about this partnership.

12. Can we expect some streams and /or to see you at some live festivals soon in BC colors?

Yes to both!
