The 2025 WPT Australia Main Tour festival will take place at the Star Sydney from September 18 to October 1, featuring 32 events and an estimated $10 million prize pool.
The World Poker Tour (WPT) Main Tour is set to return to Australia in 2025, with the festival moving to a new venue for the first time.
From 18 September to 1 October 2025, the Star Sydney will host the WPT Australia festival, marking the tour's debut in the New South Wales capital.
This year’s edition features 32 scheduled events and an estimated festival prize pool of $10 million. The highlight of the series will be the $5,500 buy-in Championship event, which is expected to draw a strong international and domestic field.
The 2025 festival also includes the return of the Mike Sexton WPT Champions Cup. In addition to prize money, 11 WPT World Championship passports will be awarded throughout the series, giving players a chance to qualify for the season-ending event in Las Vegas.
A Player of the Festival and Team of the Festival race will run across the full schedule, incentivising consistent deep runs and collaborative performances.
This series represents the largest WPT event hosted in Australia to date, and the first time a WPT Main Tour stop will be held in Sydney.
The move to Sydney follows several years of WPT Australia events held at the Star Gold Coast, which previously served as the main venue for WPT stops in the region.
