€500,000 Unibet Poker Anniversary Series

Unibet Poker is more than 10 years old, it’s been going for much longer than that, but this anniversary marks ten years since Unibet switched to their current poker platform, provided by Relax Gaming. However, their plans for players are anything but relaxing, with a €100,000 guarantee on a €10 phase tournament taking centre stage. 

The anniversary is being marked in three different ways:

Phase tournaments (also known as flighted tournaments) are those that have several Phase 1s (day 1s) taking place over an extended period of time, with a phase 2 (final day) taking placde after they have been completed. This popular poker format enable sites to generate much bigger prize pools than they can do with single starting day events. 

For this anniversary Unibet Poker is running a phase tournament with a €10 buy-in and an incredible €100,000 prize pool. It needs more than 10,000 entries to avoid an overlay and as it seems fairly likely that it will miss its target, it should be a great value event for anyone who likes value. So far, most poker players we have encountered do indeed like value. What’s not to like about it?

Phase 1s have been running daily since the 4th of February and will continue right up until March 17th after which all players who made it through will contest phase 2 and all will be in the money. Players can enter as many phase 1s as they like and can qualify for phase 2 more than once, but crucially can only take their biggest stack forward to the final day. Phase 2 will begin at 8pm (UK) on Sunday March 17th.

Unibet Poker’s Anniversary series will run from the 25th February until 11th March with €500,000 guaranteed across the series. It features 90 tournaments, broken down into three tiers of events, each with a different buy-in range:

Low:  Buy-ins from € 2 - € 5 


Mid: Buy-ins from €10 - €25

High: Buy-ins from € 50 - € 250 

The festival gets underway at 19.05 (UK time) on Sunday 25th February with its Kick Off event, running at three different buy-in levels, all of which are two-day events:

Low: €5 buy-in, €1,750 guaranteed

Medium: €25 buy-in, €7,000 guaranteed

High: €100 buy-in, €25,000 guaranteed

There will be at least six tournaments per day and most also have satellites, so there’s a cheap way in, enabling players with smaller bankrolls to take a shot at getting into tournaments that are usually outside their reach. Winners of every tournament will also earn a special avatar for future use at Unibet Poker.

The Main Events take place on Sunday 10th March, also at three different buy-in tiers and also as two-day events.

If the bigger than usual guarantees and increased likelihood of overlays isn’t enough to peak your interest, there is also a further €13,000 up for grabs from the series leaderboards. There’s four of these leaderboards taking place, one for each of the buy-in tiers and an overall one, which accumulates points from all the tiers to establish an overall player of the festival.
