WSOPC Results and News Roundup, March 2024

March was another extremely busy month for the World Series of Poker Circuit, with no less six festivals held worldwide, including WSOPC Nottingham and WSOPC Toronto, which were both only announced a few weeks before they took place. Six new WSOPC champions have received their rings, two of them not for the first time. In addition to these there was also an online WSOP Super Circuit festival at GG Poker, making this one of the busiest months of the year for the tour.

WSOPC Chicago

WSOPC Chicago was the first event of the month to conclude and was won by the very experienced and successful Soheb Porbandarwala, who defeated a field of just under 1,000 players to claim his 12th WSOPC gold ring. This was also his second main event win on the tour, having won his first in Atlantic City in 2018. The Stamford, CT resident dominated the WSOPC Chicago event from the start of day two, steamrollering his way to victory in impressive style. Soheb has a string of great results on his poker resume, including an online WSOP bracelet and another online win in the Party Poker Millions main event in 2020.

WSOPC Tulsa

Han Feng won the WSOPC Tulsa main event, taking down $144,413 and his first gold ring.  The San Antonio, CA resident has had a great start to 2024 and this was his 12th live cash of the year so far. That string of results included five final tables and victory in the MoneyMaker Tour main event in Houston for $54,100. Brian Altman in 5th place by far the most decorated player on the final table, with over $8m lifetime winnings. This was his second WSOPC final table in less than two weeks, as he took 8th place at WSOPC Chicago, Hammond just over a week earlier.

WSOPC New York

Ethan Bennett scored the biggest win of his poker career in winning the WSOPC New York main event. His previous best was for 150th in the WSOP ME last year, for $67,700, but he’s now upped his best live cash to just under $300k. Bennet was the last standing male in the final three, but overcame Katherine Brandt and Cindy Spier to take the title. This is the third year that Turning Stone has hosted WSOPC New York and this one was the biggest yet, growing by more than 100 players since Shuan Deeb won last year’s main event.

WSOPC UK at Dusk Till Dawn, Nottingham

Daniel Charlton from Macclesfield, has had a string of good results, including 13th in Blackpool GUKPT last month, but this is his first major live win. He went close to winning a GUKPT in 2011, finishing runner up in GUKPT Manchester, but now has a WSOPC title under his belt, plus a gold ring and £73,295 in prize money to go with it.

WSOPC Las Vegas

Giuseppe Pantaleo claimed his third WSOPC gold ring when winning WSOPC Las Vegas as the Horseshoe Casino. Guiseppe, originally from Germany but now a Las Vegas resident, topped a field of 669 players to cash for $192,831. Although he has previously won two gold rings, both of those were secured online and this is his first significant win in a live event, despite having a huge string of cashes over the last 14 years.

WSOPC Toronto

The biggest field of the year so far was at WSOPC Toronto at the city’s Great Canadian Casino Resort. Champion Khaled Aljoma picked up the his biggest lifetime cash. Prior to the win, the Burlington resident, who works as a mechanic had just a handful of live results and this score dwarfs the $97k total winnings he had previously banked.

WSOPC Events in April 2024

Although April is not as busy a month for the WSOPC, there are still four festivals taking place. Two are in the US, one is Canada and the fourth is in France.
