The third day of the 2026 World Series of Poker featured a diverse array of highlights. Action spread across six events hosted at the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas.

Jerome Neppl Wins Event #3: $500 Industry Employees No-Limit Hold'em

Jerome Neppl secured his place in poker history as the first bracelet winner of the 2026 WSOP. Outlasting a field of 905 opponents in Event #3: $500 Industry Employees No-Limit Hold'em, Neppl captured the top prize of $64,083 alongside his gold hardware.

The final stages of the tournament included deep runs from PokerNews staff members. Brett Slezak and Tyler Boyer both navigated their way to the final two tables, ultimately finishing in 16th and 18th place, respectively.

Day 1c of the $550 Mini Mystery Millions Draws in Another 2,450 Entrants

High expectations surround Event #1: $550 Mini Mystery Millions, driven by the inclusion of a $1 million top bounty envelope. Following the addition of 2,450 players during Day 1c, the cumulative field size reached 5,647 entries.

With three starting flights remaining, total entries are projected to exceed 15,000. Matthew Todd concluded Day 1c at the top of the leaderboard with 2,300,000 in chips. Shawn Daniels follows in second with 1,800,000, while Cero Zuccarello sits in third with 1,700,000.

Daniels, who previously earned a bracelet in 2023, established a strong early position for his pursuit of a second title. Day 1d is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. local time on May 29.

Chenxiang Miao Leads Final Five in Event #2: $5,000 8-Handed No-Limit Hold'em

Only five players remain in Event #2: $5,000 8-Handed No-Limit Hold'em, where China's Chenxiang Miao holds the chip lead with 10,850,000.

Miao generated a late-day surge that included eliminating Ivan Ruban in sixth place with pocket aces, allowing him to bag a stack worth 90 big blinds. Daniyal Gheba occupies the second position with 8,600,000 chips.

A finish of third or better will secure a new career-best score for Gheba. Xiaohu Liu, also representing China, returns in third place with 3,365,000. Ren Lin holds 3,000,000, and Peter Mugar rounds out the final five with 2,640,000.

By reaching the final five, Lin secured points for Team Lang in the $25K Fantasy Draft. Lin was acquired by Team Lang for $29. Final day action resumes at 1:00 p.m. local time, with play continuing until a champion is crowned.

$1,500 Omaha Hi-Low Event Down to 17 Players; Jason Daly Leads

Event #4: $1,500 Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better 7-Handed has narrowed its field to 17 remaining competitors, all competing for the bracelet and a first-place prize of $191,362. Jason Daly holds a marginal chip lead heading into the final day.

Daly bags 2,100,000 in chips, placing him just 10,000 ahead of Kelly Vandemheen, who sits in second with 2,090,000. The Texan chip leader is chasing his third career bracelet, having previously won the $3,000 Limit Hold'em 6-Handed in 2023 and the $2,500 Omaha Hi-Lo/Stud Hi-Lo mixed event in 2025.

Dylan Weisman Takes an Early Lead in the $5,000 PLO

Dylan Weisman secured the Day 1 chip lead in Event #5: $5,000 Pot-Limit Omaha, finishing the opening session with 951,000. Both of Weisman's prior gold bracelets were achieved in Pot-Limit Omaha variants.

Weisman is one of five competitors returning for Day 2 with a stack exceeding 100 big blinds. The other four players holding three-figure big blind stacks are Jesse Lonis (906,000), James Chen (856,000), Glen Tinney (801,000), and David Eller (801,000).
