Monarch Breaks Records Again With $12.7 Million Poker Hand
The Triton Poker Super High Roller Series Jeju has become the stage for Ossi “Monarch” Ketola’s relentless pursuit of the biggest pots in poker history. The Finnish high roller and Duel Casino owner added another staggering achievement on Tuesday, capturing a $12.7 million hand — the largest ever livestreamed.
The $12.7M Pocket Pair Showdown
Facing Hong Kong’s Bjorn Li in a $2,000,000-per-match heads-up series, Monarch had already dropped three of four matches but agreed to a high-stakes rematch.
In the decisive clash, Ketola raised on the button with9♣9♥only to be three-bet by Li holding 8♥8♦.
Monarch shoved for $6.35 million, and Li called, creating the $12.7 million (!) monster pot.
The board ran 6♠7♥10♥ 2♠3♣leaving Ketola’s nines untouched and cementing his place in poker history once again.
Although Li battled back with $3.3 million behind, Monarch eventually closed out the session with a $4 million profit.
