APT Summer Series Schedule & Dates 2023

The 10-day, 45-trophy event in Hanoi features over $1 million USD in prize money for more than one of those tournaments

Next up, from July 21-30 is the APT Summer Series Da Nang, Vietnam, before the third main event is staged in Incheon, South Korea, between August 25 to September 3.

The series is sponsored by Natural8 and will also be streamed live on the site as well as at GGPoker.

The key events each year are the Summer Series tournaments played across Asia.

The Main Event APT kickoff will begin in Hanoi, Vietnam on Friday, May 26 with a buy-in of VND 6,300,000 + 700,000 Fee ($298 USD) and has a Guaranteed Prize Pool of VND 1,000,000,000 ($42589 USD). 

Day one also sees the kick-off of the Turbo-8 Max, Turbo, and a Single Day High Roller event with this largest entry fee by far at VND 54,000,000+6,000,000 ($2555 USD)

What makes the Summer Series kick-off so much fun is the many different tournament types you can buy-in to. It appears the Asian Poker Tour is about offering (and educating) players on a wide variety of tournament types. 

The different tournaments offered are Limit-Badugi-Triple Draw, Super 3-card Hold’em, Pot Limit Omaha, Short Deck, and Crazy Pineapple. The total guaranteed prize amount is 24 Billion VND (1 Million USD).

Day Two sees the start of the Mystery Bounty Hunter tournaments sponsored by Natural8. The APT Super High Roller, two more rounds of Turbo-8 Max and Turbo, and lastly the second and final day of the APT Kickoff VND 1,000,000,000 Guaranteed.

Sunday, May 28 starts off with the first satellite event with a guaranteed seat in the Main Event on the 31st. Other satellite events are also on Monday and Tuesday before the Final Table begins on Wednesday. Sunday also gives us a Triple Draw-Limit Badugi and Super Holdem Turbo (with 3-hole cards). 

Those aren’t events you see all the time in the US and this is one of the reasons the APT tour can be so much fun at these tournaments. 

The other events that are pretty unique are Pot Limit Omaha High Single Re-entry (29th), NLH Short Deck Turbo 6 Max (29th) a Superstar Challenge (30th), Freezeout (30th), Omaholic (Omaha High-PL / NL Post) Turbo also sponsored by Natural8. The ladies get their own event (31st). 

The rest of the APT Summer Kick-Off continues with more of the same as players continue to qualify for the Main Event Final Table, Daily Turbos, and more. Then on the second Saturday, we get the Final Table and the winner of the APT Main Event VND 12,000,000,000 GTD 

The final Sunday, June 4th, still has plenty of action with a few Turbo events, the Final Day of the Mini Main, and the APT High Roller-8 Max Final Day. Oh and just for good measure this Summer Series even has its own player party on one of the nights (June 1st). 

Well, that’s the APT Summer Series Hanoi, 48 events packed in 10 days of poker fun. It doesn’t get much better than that. This is just the first of three summer series the next starting July 21st and running until July 30th in Dan Nang, Vietnam. 

It won’t be a summer series kick-off but it too will have major players, major buy-ins, and major guarantees.

While the APT Summer Series in Hanoi was a kick-off to the summer with all sorts of events, the APT Summer Series in Da Nang, Vietnam is more suited to the serious player. 

This tournament is centered around the APT Main Event with a VND 31,500,000+3,500,000 and a VND 12,000,000,000 GTD. 

Day 1 has the APT Super High Roller 8 Max with a buy-in more than triple that of the Main Event (VND 112,000,000+8,000,000) but hey, that’s why they’re called High Rollers right? The Main Event final day starts on the 29th as does the final APT High Roller-8 Max. 

The APT Summer Series Da Nang is a pretty straightforward, serious tournament. We will see the best players start to get into some serious prize money and separate themselves from those who don’t belong on the APT Summer Series tour.

August 25-September 3: APT Summer Series Incheon, South Korea

 

The final stop in the APT Summer Series starts August 25th in Incheon, South Korea. 

This tournament is a real deal, serious players only need apply, poker event. Six Days of a VND 1,300,000,000 Guaranteed Main Event. 

This Main Event has a buy-in of VND 2,070,000+230,000 which, by the standards of the rest of the Summer Series is a pretty reasonable buy-in ($1725 USD). 

If you like straightforward high-stakes tournament poker, then you’ll need to make sure not to miss the final event of the APT Summer Series.
