Alan Keating conceded his 2026 WSOP $25,000 Heads-Up Championship match against Piotr Krupa after arriving late. Keating forfeited his buy-in following a million-dollar cash game win at The Lodge and will next play the Hustler Casino Live Million Dollar Game.

Cash game specialist Alan Keating registered for his first event of the 2026 World Series of Poker on Saturday but ultimately failed to compete in the tournament.

After paying the $25,000 entry fee for Day 1b of Event #7: $25,000 Heads-Up No-Limit Hold'em Championship, Keating did not show up on time for his scheduled opening match.

Keating was drawn to face Piotr Krupa in the first round of the 128-player bracket. As the match began without him, his stack was actively being blinded out.

Keating eventually contacted tournament operators to inform them that he was running late and chose to officially concede the match.

As a direct result of the concession, Krupa advances to the second round without playing a hand. Krupa will face the winner of the first-round match between Adrian Mateos and Nikita Kuznetsov. Meanwhile, Keating forfeits the $25,000 buy-in he put up to enter the Championship event.

While Keating regularly appears in a few World Series of Poker events each year, he primarily focuses on cash games rather than tournaments.

Prior to his absence on Saturday, Keating secured a profit of over $1 million during a livestreamed cash game at The Lodge Card Club in Texas earlier in the week. Keating is scheduled to return to high-stakes streaming action later this month.

On June 12, he will compete in the Hustler Casino Live Million Dollar Game, an environment where he could potentially recover the cost of his Heads-Up Championship buy-in in a single hand.

Event #7 continues its schedule, with live reporting coverage available directly through PokerNews. A dedicated livestream showcasing the second-round bracket matchups will broadcast Saturday evening on YouTube.
