Negreanu joined the $100/$200 No Limit Hold’em game on Friday, August 28 alongside Nik Airball, Andy Stacks, Sam “Senor Tilt” Kiki, Randy “3Coin” Sadler, Steve Swedlow, Dr. H and Jellyfish.

Things started badly almost immediately. After Negreanu asked what the standard raise was, he raised to $600 and got tangled in a 4-bet pre flop action including Airball, holding pocket 3's, and Brandon, AKo, the pot was already at $17,600.

Not long afterwards, Negreanu tangled with Nik Airball holding A♦7♦.
The 44♦7♥6♦ flop gave Negreanu top pair and the nut flush draw. Airball called with K 3 before hitting a king on the turn.
The river paired the four without completing Negreanu’s flush. Airball bet $25,000 and Negreanu called, sending another significant pot across the table.
Then came the biggest early collision.

Neither the turn nor river changed the result and 3Coin collected a pot of roughly $187,000.
Negreanu was left with a stack of around $43,000 and his night continued moving in the wrong direction.
Eventually he reached the confirmed low point of his session.

The comeback starts
The first major recovery hand came against Steve Swedlow.
Negreanu held ace king against Steve’s king queen and both players made trip kings. This time the kicker worked in Negreanu’s favour.
Hustler Casino Live noted that Negreanu had been down $162,000 immediately before the hand.
It was the start of a remarkable turnaround.
Negreanu then picked up pocket aces against Nik Airball.
The aces improved to a set on the turn and Airball remained interested all the way to the river.
Negreanu shoved.

The result was a $148,500 pot going Negreanu’s way and his deficit was suddenly down to roughly $50,000.
Negreanu bluffs Senor Tilt off top two
The most memorable hand of Negreanu’s debut came against Senor Tilt.
Negreanu reached the river with ace high while Senor Tilt held top two pair.
After checking, Negreanu faced a river bet and responded with a large check raise.
Senor Tilt went deep into the tank before eventually folding.
Negreanu then showed the Q♠, confirming that the check raise had been a bluff.
The pot was worth $127,100.
It was the clearest sign that Negreanu had no intention of simply sitting back and waiting for premium hands after going deep into the red.
From $162K down to more than $50K up
Negreanu continued rebuilding.
In one smaller but interesting hand, he three bet 10 7 suited preflop and eventually made a flush in a three way pot worth $22,400.
That hand moved him into profit for the first time.
Then came another clash with Airball.
Negreanu flopped a straight in a three bet pot while Airball held an open ended straight draw.
Airball released his hand on the turn and Negreanu collected another $90,000.
At that point, Negreanu had gone from $162,000 down to more than $50,000 ahead.
That represents a swing of more than $210,000 from his lowest point.
Jellyfish adds fuel to the comeback
Negreanu also collected two important pots from Jellyfish.
In the first, Jellyfish attacked the turn with jack high while Negreanu held ace king. Negreanu stayed in the hand and collected an $87,800 pot.
The second confrontation was more straightforward.
Jellyfish four bet shoved pocket eights into Negreanu’s pocket queens.
The flop gave both players sets.
Unfortunately for Jellyfish, an eight high set was still no good against queens.
Negreanu collected another $68,700 and at one stage had more than $300,000 sitting in front of him.
The comeback appeared complete.
Andy Stack Sends Negreanu Back to Red
The game eventually increased to $100/$200/$400 with an $800 straddle.
More than $2 million was on the table.
After more than seven hours of play, Negreanu became involved in the hand that changed the direction of his session for the final time.
Negreanu four bet ace seven suited preflop against Andy Stacks.
Stacks held pocket tens.
A low flop gave Negreanu an open ended straight draw, giving him enough equity to continue applying pressure.
The turn brought a jack and the river a queen.
Negreanu missed his straight.
He continued with the bluff.
Stacks called.
The failed attempt sent Negreanu tumbling back to around $60,000 in the red.
Negreanu finishes $73,800 down
Negreanu briefly put another $200,000 on the table as the session entered its closing stages but eventually had to leave to catch his flight back to Las Vegas.
The final result showed just how wild his debut had been.
