Negreanu Makes Third WSOP Online Final Table But Misses Bracelet

Daniel Negreanu finished sixth in GGPoker’s $5,000 High Roller Bounty PLO, earning $43,641 plus about $15,000 in bounties. 

Daniel Negreanu reached his third WSOP Online final table in five days but again fell short of adding another bracelet to his career total.

The eight-time WSOP bracelet winner finished sixth in the $5,000 High Roller Bounty PLO on GGPoker, earning $43,641 plus approximately $15,000 in bounties. 

The result extended a run of three final-table appearances during the five-day stretch as Negreanu continued his pursuit of a first WSOP bracelet won online.

The tournament drew 378 entries, with Negreanu entering the final session fourth in chips among the eight remaining players. He started with 35 big blinds, while Israel's Yigal Papi led the field with 134 big blinds.

Negreanu picked up pocket aces for a second time, although the outcome was different. Anatoly Zlotnikov also held two aces among his four hole cards and completed a flush to take the pot. The loss returned Negreanu to roughly the same position from which he had started the final table.

His tournament eventually ended against Blaz Zerjav. Negreanu made two pair, but Zerjav had flopped a set and won the hand, taking the remainder of Negreanu's stack. The sixth-place finish paid Negreanu $43,641, along with approximately $15,000 in bounty payments.

The $5,000 High Roller Bounty PLO represented Negreanu's third WSOP Online final table in only five days.

His strongest opportunity during the run came in the $25,000 High Roller Championship, a No-Limit Hold'em event. Negreanu reached the final five before losing a major all-in pot against the chip leader.

The PLO event provided another opportunity to pursue a ninth career WSOP bracelet. Negreanu won his eighth bracelet during the summer in a PLO event and was attempting to become the 10th player to reach at least nine WSOP bracelets.

A ninth bracelet would place Negreanu among a group that includes Phil Hellmuth, Shaun Deeb and Benny Glaser. He was also attempting to secure his first WSOP bracelet won online.

Negreanu Streams WSOP Online Run From Vancouver

Negreanu has been livestreaming his WSOP Online bracelet attempts on GGPoker while visiting Vancouver, Canada.

His three final-table appearances have provided several opportunities during the current stretch, but the $5,000 High Roller Bounty PLO became the latest tournament to end without a title.

At the time the tournament report was published, Papi remained the sizeable chip leader. The eventual winner was set to receive $132,297 plus bounties and the WSOP bracelet.

Negreanu's sixth-place finish therefore completed another deep WSOP Online run without increasing his total of eight career bracelets.
