Jason Koon became the sole inductee for the Poker Hall of Fame 2026 class during his initial eligibility year. Earning 22 votes from 33 living members, the West Virginia native ranks third on poker's money list with over $77 million.

Two-time WSOP bracelet winner and high-stakes tournament legend Jason Koon has officially achieved one of the most prestigious honors in professional poker, earning induction into the Poker Hall of Fame as the sole member of the 2026 class.

The West Virginia native secured his place among the game's all-time greats in his very first year of eligibility.

Koon reached the required two-thirds majority by receiving support from living Hall members, making him the only nominee on the ballot to cross the voting threshold.

Under a updated voting structure introduced for 2026, multiple nominees could earn induction by securing votes from at least two-thirds of the 33 living members.

Despite a competitive lineup of eight finalists representing some of the biggest names in modern poker, Koon was the only candidate to attain the necessary 22 votes.

The 40-year-old professional satisfied the organization's age requirement for nomination this year. His path to poker prominence began during his college years at West Virginia Wesleyan College, where the former collegiate athlete was first introduced to the game.
After establishing himself as a formidable force online, Koon transitioned to the live tournament scene, building a reputation defined by high-level analytical discipline and consistent success against world-class fields.

Koon's career achievements reflect success across multiple formats, including No-Limit Hold'em, Short Deck, and Pot-Limit Omaha.

With more than $77 million in live tournament earnings, he currently ranks third on poker's all-time money list. His career accolades feature 12 Triton Poker titles alongside his two WSOP bracelets.

As high-roller events and massive buy-ins continue to shape contemporary professional poker, Koon's first-ballot election stands as recognition of his sustained dominance throughout the modern era.
