The World Series of Poker Europe 2025 concluded with a defining moment at King’s Resort, Rozvadov, as the festival’s final edition at the iconic venue came to a close.
Across multiple events, poker fans witnessed veterans extend their dominance and new names rise to prominence.
From Martin Kabrhel’s fifth bracelet to Daniel Pidun’s Main Event comeback, the festival captured the full spectrum of poker’s competitive evolution and emotional depth.
Daniel Pidun Wins WSOP Europe 2025 Main Event
The spotlight of WSOP Europe 2025 firmly belonged to Daniel Pidun, who secured his first WSOP gold bracelet and a €1,140,000 top prize by defeating Gerald Karlic in the prestigious €10,350 Main Event.
The conclusion came in cinematic fashion—a preflop all-in confrontation between Pidun’s pocket aces and Karlic’s pocket jacks, a decisive clash that sealed both the title and the end of the Rozvadov era for WSOP Europe.
Pidun’s return to the winner’s circle was more than just about the cards—it was a story of perseverance and quiet resurgence.
Renowned for his 2013 EPT Berlin Main Event victory worth €880,000, Pidun had largely stepped away from the professional circuit for over a decade.
Since then, he had recorded just five tournament cashes, including final-table appearances in the €50,000 Diamond High Roller (2022) and €100,000 Diamond High Roller (2019) events. His decision to return to Rozvadov culminated in one of the most meaningful wins of the year.
During that hiatus, Daniel focused on running a cell phone parts business alongside his brother Thomer Pidun, who himself made WSOP headlines in 2022, capturing the €2,000 Eight-Game Mix title.
With Daniel’s 2025 victory, the Pidun brothers etched their names in poker history, becoming the seventh sibling duo to each win a WSOP bracelet—joining elite families such as the Mizrachis, Hinkles, Zamanis, and Les.
Heads-up play
In the final duel, Karlic entered heads-up play with a commanding 49,850,000 to 16,075,000 chip advantage. However, momentum shifted instantly when Pidun’s aces held against Karlic’s jacks, flipping the script in a single hand. That final showdown not only secured Pidun’s comeback but also brought a symbolic and emotional close to WSOP Europe’s Rozvadov era.
Other notable victories
- Martin Kabrhel – Fifth WSOP Bracelet - Won his fifth WSOP bracelet in a high-stakes event. Consistent deep runs pushed him to the top of the WSOP Player of the Year leaderboard.
- Sascha Wilhelm – Second WSOP Bracelet - Captured Event #3 (€1,000 Pot-Limit Omaha 8-Max). Secured his second WSOP bracelet.
- Renji Mao – Comeback Victory in €5,000 PLO - Won the €5,000 Pot-Limit Omaha event for his second WSOP title.
- Tobias Peters – 6-Max NLH Champion - Triumphed in Event #9 (€3,000 No-Limit Hold’em 6-Max). Outlasted a 309-entry field to win his second WSOP bracelet.
- Shaun Deeb – Eighth WSOP Bracelet - Won Event #13 (€25,000 No-Limit Hold’em GGMillion€). Captured his eighth WSOP bracelet.
A Historic Farewell to Rozvadov
The 2025 edition marks the final chapter for WSOP Europe at King’s Resort. Daniel Pidun’s victory—clinched with a pair of pocket aces—provided a fitting finale. His triumph not only capped off a storybook return but also closed a defining era for European poker.
