The 2026 WSOP Main Event officially drew 9,208 players, creating an $85,625,100 prize pool as the fourth-largest field in history. Defending champion Michael Mizrachi and Phil Ivey advanced to Day 3.

The official registration numbers for the 2026 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event have been finalized, locking in another year of massive attendance for poker's most prestigious annual tournament.

Historically, the WSOP Main Event typically attracted between 6,500 and 8,000 players during the years spanning from 2006 to 2022.

However, the tournament has shifted into a new era of growth, now consistently surpassing 9,000 entrants each year.

The all-time record continues to be held by the 2024 field, which saw 10,112 players enter the year Jonathan Tamayo became the world champion.

While last year's tournament drew 9,735 entries, standing as the third-largest field all time and the first year since 2022 that failed to crack the 10,000-player mark, the 2026 edition continues the trend of high-volume turnouts.

When registration officially closed at approximately 3:45 p.m. PT on Monday, the tournament board confirmed a total of 9,208 players for 2026.

This turnout generated an official prize pool of $85,625,100, securing its place as the fourth-largest Main Event field in the 57-year history of the tournament.

The action unfolding in the 2026 Main Event mirrors aspects of the 2025 tournament, particularly with defending champion Michael Mizrachi positioning himself well early on.

Mizrachi bagged over 200,000 chips on Day 2abc on Monday and will head into the next stage of play on Wednesday with an above-average stack.
The closing of late registration also saw late-stage entries from iconic figures. Poker Hall of Famer and 11-time WSOP bracelet winner Phil Ivey was among the final participants to enter the field.

Ivey took his 60,000-chip starting stack at Paris Las Vegas immediately after the second break of the day, right as the registration window closed.

Day 2d session featured a dense line-up of prominent players. High-profile stars including Kathy Liebert, Alex Foxen, and Liv Boeree were actively accumulating chips and working with big stacks.
