After two months of GG Poker Road to Vegas Promotion 645 players have secured their WSOP Main Event Seats. $1.3m in missed guarantees providing great added value for players

GG Poker announced an ambitious target of sending 1,000 online qualifiers to play in the $10,000 buy-in Main Event of the World Series of Poker in 2024. The Road to Vegas WSOP promotion started on March 10th and has now been running for over two months, with 645 unique qualifiers having claimed their seats already. With just over six weeks left until the Main Event starts on July 3rd, the site needs a further 355 unique qualifiers to hit its target.

Over $1.3m in Overlays So Far

However, its has not come without a significant cost for the world’s largest online poker room, as the cumulative cost of overlays in the 271 satellites held so far is $1,325,630. This does not include any overlays in feeder satellites.

The total would have been even higher if it were not for the fact that some satellites with only 1 seat guaranteed are set up to pay cash rather than award a full package if they conclude before late registration has ended.

Since April 2nd, only two out of 187 Road to Vegas direct satellite held have met and surpassed their guarantees.

**Satellites that have not met their guarantee but have finished before the late registration period has ended do not award WSOP packages. Instead they become cash satellites and pay out only the money collected from buy-ins.

Fantastic Value for Players

All this adds up to fantastic value for players participating in the promotion, as every satellite is overlaying by an average of $5,739. This equates to $1,787 in overlay for every WSOP package awarded.

The situation is likely to continue and with just six weeks of qualifying left, GG Poker will have to increase guarantees on some satellites if they are committed to hitting the 1,000 target. This means overlays are likely to continue to rise for much of the remainder of the promotion. Fantastic value for those who participate.

Sunday 19th May’s Road to Vegas Satellite Schedule

Sunday is the best day to try and qualify, as the Main Event Mania satellite guarantees 15 x $12,000 packages. There are also $525 and $250 direct satellites, but its Sunday’s Main Event Mania that gives players the best chance to qualify and the biggest potential overlay.

Road to Vegas satellites on GG Poker are run with a milestone format, which means that instead of having to make it to the very end of the tournament to win your seat, as soon as you have reached or surpassed the target of 110,000 chips, you are awarded your seat. Players start with 10,000 chips.
