The 2026 WSOP Circuit Calgary series has reached four confirmed ring winners at Deerfoot Inn & Casino after Gennady Klimenko captured the C$400 Mini Main Event.

Klimenko joined Martin Kaspers, Pengju Wang and Matthew Robertson among the early champions at the 18-ring festival, which began on September 30 and runs through October 12.

Robertson claimed the third ring of the stop in the C$600 NLH Black Chip Bounty before Klimenko followed with victory in the Mini Main. The C$2,300 Main Event is next among the major events on the schedule, beginning on October 8.

Matthew Robertson Wins C$600 Black Chip Bounty

Matthew Robertson secured the third ring of the Calgary stop by winning Event #3, the C$600 NLH Black Chip Bounty.

Official WSOP results recorded 198 entries and C$82,170 in tournament prize money. Robertson earned C$19,154 after defeating Duong Bach heads-up.

Bach received C$12,592 for second place, while Patrick Griffin finished third for C$8,527. The tournament concluded shortly after the final break. Bach moved all-in holding king-jack offsuit against Robertson's ace-three. Robertson remained ahead through the board to close out the event and secure the ring.

Robertson's victory came after approximately 12 hours of play and completed the third ring event of the Calgary series.

Gennady Klimenko Captures C$400 Mini Main

Gennady Klimenko became the fourth confirmed champion at WSOP Circuit Calgary by taking down the C$400 Mini Main Event.

Day 2 resumed with 96 players still in contention and lasted almost 14 hours before a winner was decided. Klimenko controlled much of the final table, although the lead changed during three-handed play. Carter McCauly moved ahead for a period before Klimenko regained control.

Klimenko eliminated McCauly in third place and added his stack, giving him a substantial advantage going into heads-up play against Anthony Casten. Klimenko began the final duel with approximately 50 million chips, while Casten held around 8 million.

The deciding hand developed after Casten picked up a straight draw on the turn and the chips went into the middle. Klimenko held a set of queens, which stayed in front through the remainder of the board to secure the Mini Main title.

The victory was Klimenko's first live tournament win and represented the largest recorded score of his career by a significant margin.

Before the Calgary Mini Main, Klimenko had approximately $11,500 in lifetime live tournament earnings listed on Hendon Mob. His result in Calgary therefore surpassed his previous recorded career earnings total.
