  • GGPoker added four optional security features and win-rate anomaly detection to enhance player safety.

  • Support for outdated operating systems will end in 2027; findings from a recent incident were shared with Coinbase and law enforcement.
GGPoker Third Party Software Ban
GGPoker has introduced optional client security features, new win-rate anomaly detection, and a ban on third-party poker software and automation tools. Support for older operating systems ends in 2027, while investigations into a recent security incident continue with authorities.

GGPoker has announced new client security features, enhanced game integrity monitoring, a ban on third-party poker software and automation tools, and plans to end support for older operating systems in 2027.

The measures follow a recent security incident as the operator seeks to protect players and prevent similar cases.

GGPoker is introducing a Client Security section in Game Settings, offering four optional features that operate only while the client is open: Screen Guard, Connection Monitor, Allowed Processes, and DNS Check.

Screen Guard prevents tables from appearing in screenshots, recordings, screen shares, and remote-viewing applications. Enabling “Protect the whole Client” extends protection to the lobby, cashier, and account pages, including wallet balances, transaction history, and personal details.

Connection Monitor alerts users to applications with suspicious connections, including remote-control tools and proxies. Allowed Processes lets users identify trusted applications to prevent alerts, while DNS Check scans the network for signs of DNS hijacking.

GGPoker has added Abnormally High Win-Rate (WAD) detection to its game integrity monitoring system. Existing checks examine hand histories for potential collusion, ghosting, botting, and real-time assistance tools.

WAD takes a different approach by reviewing each decision in a hand against the cards an opponent actually held.

It seeks to identify players making correct decisions far more often than any honest playing style would allow when facing cards they should not be able to see.

GGPoker said testing identified past cases and that the methodology could help prevent similar edge cases in the future.
GGPoker said it traced the funds involved in the recent incident and identified the associated cryptocurrency wallet address.

The operator shared its findings with Coinbase, where it believes the funds were deposited, requesting that the exchange restrict the associated account and preserve its records.

It also reported the wallet addresses to industry networks tracking illicit funds and to law enforcement. GGPoker said it would continue cooperating with authorities and the community and provide further updates as the matter develops and additional security features become available.

Older Operating Systems to Lose Support in 2027

GGPoker will end support for Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, and macOS 11 (Big Sur) or earlier in 2027. The operator cited the absence of manufacturer security patches and the associated risks from modern exploits.

Users are advised to update to at least Windows 10 or macOS 12 (Monterey) before the change takes effect to avoid service interruptions.

Third-Party Poker Software Ban

GGPoker is banning all third-party poker software and automation tools running alongside its client. The operator said these applications may access game data, interact with tables, or automate computer actions, creating potential risks to player information.

Previously, certain third-party tools that did not affect gameplay were permitted. Following the recent incident, GGPoker is tightening its policy.

Prohibited applications include Jurojin, PokerTracker 4, Hand2Note, Holdem Manager 3, StarsCaption, DriveHUD 2, Intuitive Tables, Lobbyze, Equilab, and AutoHotkey, alongside other third-party poker software and automation tools.
