Nick Schulman Defeats Bernhard Binder to Win Triton Jeju II Main Event

Nick Schulman won the $100,000 Triton Jeju II Main Event for $3,854,888 after defeating Bernhard Binder heads-up. Matthew Wantman and Ben Tollerene also captured titles during the series, giving three Americans victories across the featured high-stakes events.
Nick Schulman has won the $100,000 Triton Jeju II Main Event at LES A Casino in Jeju, defeating Bernhard Binder heads-up to claim the title and a $3,854,888 first-place prize.
The American topped a field of 196 entries to secure the biggest single cash of his career to date. The tournament generated a $19,600,000 prize pool, with the final table featuring players from the United States, Austria, Lithuania, China, Japan and Serbia.
Schulman entered the final stages alongside Bernhard Binder, Gytis Lazauninkas, Xu Yang, Ryuta Nakai, Isaac Haxton, Danilo Velasevic, Wesley Fei and Roberto Perez.
Binder made an early impact at the final table, while Wesley Fei lost a significant portion of his stack in a cooler against Xu Yang. Fei eventually finished eighth, with Velasevic following in seventh.
Haxton was eliminated by Binder in sixth place, while Nakai finished fifth after losing to Schulman. Yang then exited in fourth place before Schulman eliminated Lazauninkas in third. That elimination set up the heads-up battle between Schulman and Binder for the Triton Main Event title.
Schulman started heads-up play with a considerable chip lead, although Binder managed to close the gap by winning several significant pots, including two successful bluffs.
Schulman's pocket kings held, giving him the pot and the Triton Jeju II Main Event championship. The two players had reached a heads-up deal before continuing the contest. Binder received $3,080,112 for second place, while Schulman collected $3,854,888 as the champion.
The Jeju victory adds another major title to Schulman's poker résumé. The American is an eight-time WSOP bracelet winner, a two-time WPT champion and a Poker Hall of Famer.
At 41 years old, Schulman had already spent more than two decades playing poker before adding a Triton Main Event championship to those accomplishments.
Matthew Wantman Wins $50,000 NLH 7-Handed
Schulman's victory was not the only American title run during Triton Jeju II. Matthew Wantman won the $50,000 NLH 7-Handed event for $836,721, securing his first Triton title.
Wantman defeated fellow American Nick Schulman heads-up after the pair reached the final two alongside Ben Tollerene.
The tournament attracted 70 entries from 49 unique players and generated a $3.5 million prize pool.
Schulman finished second for $810,279, while Tollerene took third for $448,000, creating an all-American top three.
Wantman and Schulman agreed to a heads-up deal before continuing to play for the title and an additional $30,000. Wantman ultimately secured the championship and the additional prize, finishing with $836,721.
Ben Tollerene Nails His 5th Triton Title
Ben Tollerene also collected a title during the Jeju II series, winning the $50,000 Turbo Bounty Quattro.
The one-day tournament attracted 35 entries, with the final six players guaranteed payouts. Tollerene defeated Daniel Rezaei heads-up after overcoming an approximately 4:1 chip deficit at the beginning of the final duel.
Tollerene earned $412,000 for the victory along with $240,000 in bounties, taking his total payout to $652,000.
The result marked Tollerene's fifth Triton title. Canadian player Mike Watson finished sixth for $84,000. Rezaei took second place for $465,000, while Biao Ding finished third for $241,000.
The three results produced three American title winners across the high-stakes events provided from the Triton Jeju II series.
Schulman won the $100,000 Main Event for $3,854,888, Wantman captured the $50,000 NLH 7-Handed tournament for $836,721 and his first Triton title, while Tollerene won the $50,000 Turbo Bounty Quattro for $652,000 including bounties.
Schulman's Main Event victory stands apart as the largest tournament cash of his career to date. It also adds a Triton Main Event championship to a résumé that already includes eight WSOP bracelets, two WPT titles and Poker Hall of Fame membership.
The Triton Jeju II Main Event therefore concludes with Schulman taking the $3.85 million first-place prize, while Wantman and Tollerene add two further American victories during the series.
