Grosvenor Poker sent a powerful message to the community by officially revoking the £40,000 sponsorship package awarded to 2025 NPL Player of the Year, Thomas Clack.

The decision follows an investigation by the iPoker network, which resulted in Clack’s online suspension for utilizing prohibited solver software during active play. In a public statement, the brand made it clear that upholding the rules of the National Poker League is paramount, regardless of a player's previous achievements.

The Legal Fallout: Clause 46 Explained

The revocation of the prize wasn't just a discretionary move; it was a contractual necessity under the NPL’s governing rules. Grosvenor clarified that Clack’s suspension meant he "no longer met the criteria outlined in clause 46 of the National Poker League 2025 Terms and Conditions."

Because a sponsored pro must maintain a clean standing on the network's online platform, the suspension automatically disqualified Clack from receiving the full £40,000 prize.

Grosvenor’s statement emphasized their commitment to a fair playing field:

The integrity of Grosvenor Poker and the events we put on for our valued players is extremely important to us and must be upheld.

While they confirmed that previous cash prizes would still be paid out after a full audit, the coveted "sponsored pro" title has been permanently removed.

The iPoker Crackdown

The incident highlights the increasing sophistication of fair play checks on major networks. Clack, who remains a prominent figure in the UK live circuit, expressed surprise at the severity of the online ban, even as he admitted to his mistake.

I wasn’t trying to use it to gain an advantage.

:he insisted, though the iPoker network's zero-tolerance policy regarding open solvers while the client is running ultimately sealed his fate.
