Stake Poker has announced its latest tournament series, the World KO Championship, coinciding with the knockout stages of the summer's major football tournament.
Running from June 28 to July 20, 2026, the series features exclusively knockout-formatted events, offering more than $1,000,000 in total guaranteed prize pools across 23 days of competition.
The schedule incorporates multiple daily events designed to accommodate football fans, ensuring that no World KO Championship tournament starts while a match is actively being played.
Players can access the full line-up of events via a dedicated World KO Championship section in the poker client lobby.
Every event in the series utilizes a knockout structure, including regular Knockouts, Progressive Knockouts (PKOs), and Mystery Bounties. Eliminating an opponent allows players to claim their corresponding bounty.
The daily schedule features $10,000 PKOs and $10,000 Mystery Bounties. Additionally, the series includes accelerated formats such as Speed Run PKOs, Deepstack Turbos, and Big Knockout Turbos.
Buy-ins across the entire series range from $5 to $50, and players can enter using either cash or equivalent-value tickets.
The Stake Poker series highlights several key tournaments with boosted prize pools: The $100,000 Main Event: This phased Mystery Bounty tournament features a $20 buy-in.
Players can compete in any Day 1 flight throughout the series. Advancing players return for the finale on July 20, 2026.
- Bye Day Specials: Five headline tournaments are scheduled on football rest days, specifically July 8, 12, 13, 16, and 17. Each event is a $30 Progressive Knockout. The collective prize pools for these five events are expected to exceed $705,000, with individual event prize pools projected between $135,000 and $145,000. Registration for the Bye Day Specials remains open for a full 12 hours.
- Mystery Bounty Special: Scheduled for July 18, this event carries a $50 buy-in and features a $20,000 guarantee.
According to the official terms and conditions, the series runs from June 29 to July 20, 2026, with the overall schedule starting June 28.
Standard tournament registration opens 48 hours before the start time of each event, while registration for the Bye Day Special tournaments opens 12 hours prior to start. Re-entries are permitted up to a strict limit of 10 per player.
The $100,000 Main Event operates under a phased structure where each Day 1 flight concludes when 15% of the starting field remains.
The tournament enforces a Best Stack Forward Policy, meaning if a player qualifies multiple times, only their highest chip stack carries over into the July 20 finale.
A unique promotional mechanic ties the prize pools directly to the ongoing football tournament. The baseline prize pools for the Bye Day Special tournaments will increase by $500 for every goal scored across the World Cup.
