WPT Global Adds Weekly ¥800K Asia Super High Roller to Sunday Schedule

To usher in the season, WPT Global added a new high-stakes fixture to its Sunday schedule with the launch of the WPT Asia Super High Roller Championship.
The one-day tournament runs every Sunday at 12:05 UTC, putting ¥800,000 guaranteed on the table for a ¥5,300 buy-in. At least ¥200,000 is earmarked for the winner, while satellites run throughout the week for players looking for a lower-cost route into the event.
The new tournament arrives shortly after WPT Global wrapped up its WPT Asia Series: Overdrive, which featured more than ¥200 million in guarantees and 13 WPT Ring events across July and August.
Asia Super High Roller Brings ¥800K to Sundays
This new championship pushes WPT Global further into the high-roller end of its online schedule. At ¥5,300, roughly $790, the direct buy-in sits well above the operator's typical MTT price points.
The format is eight-handed No-Limit Hold'em and players begin with 100,000 chips, equivalent to 200 big blinds. Blind levels last 15 minutes, while late registration remains open through 16 levels.

Satellites Run Throughout the Week
The ¥5,300 price tag is not the only way into the tournament.
WPT Global has built multiple satellite paths into the weekly championship, with lower-stakes tournaments feeding into regular satellites and Mega Satellites.
The three main routes are:
- ¥11 Step → ¥110 Mega Satellite
- ¥30 Step → ¥288 Satellite
- ¥55 Step → ¥550 Mega Satellite
Regular satellites generally guarantee one ¥5,300 seat, while Mega Satellites guarantee at least two.
Winners Get More Than the Cash
The championship also comes with one detail not normally attached to a weekly online tournament. Each winner will receive a personalized WPT trophy carrying their name or nickname in addition to their tournament payout.
The first-place guarantee is set at ¥200,000, roughly a quarter of the overall guaranteed prize pool.
