High Roller WPT Alpha8 Series Returns to Wynn Las Vegas This Summer
The WPT Alpha8 Trifecta will feature three two-day tournaments, each with a buy-in of $25,000. The events are scheduled for the following dates:
- June 25-26
- July 3-4
- July 10-11
These tournaments are part of a larger series of 98 events at the Wynn Summer Classic, boasting over $37 million in total guaranteed prize pools.
WPT Alpha8 Trifecta Leaderboard
A new feature for this year's Alpha8 Trifecta is a points leaderboard that spans all three events. Players earning cash finishes in any of the tournaments will accumulate points. The top eight players on this leaderboard will each be awarded a seat, valued at $10,400, for the 2024 WPT World Championship at Wynn Las Vegas in December. The total value of the seats offered as part of this leaderboard challenge exceeds $80,000.
Commenting on the Leaderboard, Ryan Beauregard, Executive Director of Poker Operations at Wynn Las Vegas, said
This race is meant to be a fun challenge amongst the high stakes players, and both Wynn and WPT are excited to provide more than $80,000 in seats as added value.
Pliska Anticipates
The WPT Alpha8 Trifecta at Wynn Las Vegas is positioned as a highlight of the summer poker season, running at the same time as the 55th World Series of Poker, offering high-stake players the chance to compete in a series of premium events. The addition of a points leaderboard introduces a new competitive element, rewarding consistent performance across the series.

Last year, these players emerged victorious in the Alpha8 events:
- Jonathan Jaffe won $1,537,600
- Steve O’Dwyer secured $1,009,520
- Ren Lin took home $1,045,781
- Bin Weng outperformed 194 competitors in the joint Alpha8/WPT World Championship $25,000 event to win $958,279, also at Wynn, Las Vegas
