The January festival, presented by PokerTalk and sponsored by WPT Global, will be headlined by the WPT Prime Taiwan Championship, which carries a TWD 35,000 (~ USD 1,100) buy-in.
The Championship will run from January 7-11, while the wider festival will take place from January 2–11. The event returns to CTP, a long-standing host of World Poker Tour events in Taipei.
Founded by Hsing “David” Tai, the Chinese Texas Hold’em Poker Association has played a role in developing Taiwan’s live tournament scene.
The venue previously hosted a notable WPT Prime Taiwan Championship in 2024, attracting 1,666 entries. That turnout set a record for a WPT Prime Championship outside Las Vegas at the time.
Hsing “David” Tai, founder of CTP, said, “We are delighted to welcome WPT® back to Taiwan. The tremendous support from Taiwanese players and players from around the world has helped make WPT Prime Taiwan a special event for us.
"We look forward to welcoming everyone to enjoy great poker, food and culture, and the warmth of Taiwanese hospitality.”
