The 2026 edition of the Asian Poker Tour stop in Taipei has opened with record-breaking participation, setting a new benchmark for field size in tour history. Early tournament results and Main Event developments indicate strong momentum as the series progresses.
The festival began with the largest field ever recorded at an APT event, underlining Taipei’s continued importance on the regional poker calendar. This surge in participation has carried into the Main Event, which remains ongoing.
Initial flights in the Main Event saw entries approach 1,400, before the total field size climbed past 2,000 entries. The expanding field has pushed the prize pool to approximately TWD 100 million, equivalent to around USD 3.1 million, significantly surpassing early expectations.
Among the early standout performers, Taiwan’s Zi Han Lin emerged as the chip leader in Flight 1B, positioning himself strongly heading into the later stages of the tournament. The Main Event is still in progress, with final results yet to be determined.
Several marquee events have already concluded, delivering notable winners. In the Superstar Challenge, Phachara Wongwichit secured the title along with a top prize of TWD 7.2 million, approximately USD 232,000. The result stands as one of the biggest confirmed payouts of the series so far.
In the high-stakes arena, Mike Takayama captured the Super High Roller title. His victory is confirmed as the richest Super High Roller win in Asian Poker Tour history, marking a significant milestone within the tour’s high buy-in events.
With the Main Event still underway and participation levels already exceeding key thresholds, APT Taipei 2026 continues to develop as one of the most significant stops on the current tour schedule.
APT Taipei 2026 has combined record-breaking attendance with major early results, including landmark victories in high-stakes events. With the Main Event still ongoing and already surpassing 2,000 entries, the series remains in a crucial phase as final outcomes are awaited.
