  • Betfair Poker is now integrated with PokerStars.
  • UK players gain access to PokerStars' global tournaments and player pool.
  • Accounts, wallets, and login are unified for a smoother experience.
Betfair Poker has changed completely, and for UK poker players the new setup could be a major upgrade.

On August 13, 2026, Betfair closed its long-running iPoker operation and launched PokerStars on Betfair, giving eligible Betfair customers access to PokerStars games through their Betfair account.

That means the old Betfair Poker room is gone. In its place is something considerably bigger: access to the established PokerStars global player pool, major tournaments including the Sunday Million and WCOOP, more games running around the clock and the PokerStars poker platform.

For players who already use Betfair and want more poker action, the reason to take another look at the room is straightforward.

Betfair Poker is now powered by PokerStars.

PokerStars on Betfair Gives Players Access to a Much Bigger Poker Ecosystem

For more than 13 years, Betfair Poker operated on Playtech's iPoker Network. That relationship has now ended.

Instead of sharing tables with other iPoker skins, eligible UK Betfair players are connected to the existing PokerStars .COM player pool.

This is the biggest reason the change matters.

Online poker depends heavily on liquidity. More players can mean more active tables, more tournament entries and a wider selection of games available throughout the day.

PokerStars and Betfair are explicitly positioning the new network around exactly that idea: bringing more players together rather than splitting them across separate Flutter-owned poker rooms.

For Betfair customers, the result is access to the same ecosystem that hosts some of online poker's best-known tournaments and series.

Sunday Million and WCOOP Come to Betfair

The switch dramatically changes what poker looks like for a Betfair customer.

PokerStars on Betfair provides access to major PokerStars tournaments and events, including:
  • Sunday Million
  • WCOOP
  • PokerStars global online events
  • All-In poker leaderboards
  • Cash games and tournaments running throughout the day
  • PokerStars' wider tournament schedule

For tournament players in particular, this is where the new Betfair product becomes considerably more interesting.

Instead of Betfair maintaining its own isolated poker identity on iPoker, customers can now enter the established PokerStars tournament environment directly through Betfair.

If you already like the Betfair brand but previously preferred the tournament choice available at PokerStars, the gap between the two has effectively disappeared.

Existing Betfair Customers Can Use Their Current Login

The migration has also been designed to make the transition simple for existing Betfair users.

Players do not need a completely separate Betfair Poker login. Your existing Betfair username and password can be used to access PokerStars on Betfair.

On desktop, the previous Betfair Poker software has been replaced by the new PokerStars on Betfair application, available for Windows and macOS. Mobile versions are also available.

Players may be asked to select a new poker nickname when entering the platform for the first time.

Choose carefully: once the new nickname has been selected, Betfair says it cannot be changed.

Why Open a Betfair Account for Poker?

For eligible new UK players, Betfair's poker proposition is now very different from the room that existed before August 13.

The biggest attraction is no longer simply the Betfair name. It is what sits behind it.

By opening an eligible Betfair account and accessing PokerStars on Betfair, players can enter the PokerStars poker environment while remaining inside the Betfair platform.

That gives poker players access to:

The Global PokerStars Player Pool

UK players remain connected to the existing global PokerStars .COM pool rather than being placed into a small Betfair-only network.

Major Tournament Series

PokerStars staples including the Sunday Million, WCOOP and other major online series are available through the new setup.

More Games Throughout the Day

Betfair specifically highlights more players, more action and more games running around the clock as central benefits of the migration.

Familiar PokerStars Software

PokerStars provides the underlying poker product, meaning players gain access to the established PokerStars playing environment through Betfair.

One Betfair Wallet

The separate Betfair Poker wallet has been removed. Poker funds are now incorporated into the main Betfair wallet, giving customers one balance across Betfair products.

For players who already use Betfair for other products, that creates a much more integrated account experience.

PokerStars Network Could Keep Getting Bigger

Betfair is only the beginning of Flutter's UK poker restructuring.

Flutter, which owns both Betfair and PokerStars, is moving toward a model known as the PokerStars Network.

The objective is to connect poker players from different Flutter brands into shared player pools instead of operating multiple disconnected poker networks.

Betfair is the first major UK brand to make the move.

Paddy Power and Sky Poker are also expected to add the PokerStars product later in 2026. That could be particularly significant for liquidity.

Rather than Paddy Power, Betfair, Sky Poker and PokerStars attempting to build separate poker communities, players can increasingly be directed toward the same underlying network.

For poker players, fuller tables and larger tournament fields are the obvious attraction

What Happens to Old Betfair Poker Balances?

Existing Betfair Poker customers do not need to manually move their old poker funds. Cash held in the previous poker wallet is automatically transferred to the main Betfair wallet.

Betfair says the process can take up to three working days.

The cash value of eligible pending tokens or loyalty bonuses is also credited during the migration.

That leaves players with a single Betfair wallet rather than separate balances for poker and other Betfair products.

What If You Already Have a PokerStars Account?

Players who already hold both Betfair and PokerStars accounts can keep them.

However, Betfair states that customers cannot play poker through both accounts at the same time.

There is also an important restriction for existing PokerStars UK players: PokerStars states that existing PokerStars UK customers will not be able to open new Betfair accounts as part of the migration.

New players should therefore confirm their eligibility before registering.
