In a record-breaking 180-entry field, Jesse Lonis secured a $3.44 million win at the Triton Poker Montenegro 2025 Main Event after defeating defending champion Mikalai Vaskaboinikau.
Jesse Lonis continued his strong run in the Triton Poker Montenegro 2025 event as he won the $100K No-Limit Hold’em Main Event for over $3 million.
The event concluded at the Maestral Resort & Casino in Budva, with Lonis securing $3,446,298 following a heads-up deal with Mikalai Vaskaboinikau.
This result not only added a Triton trophy to Lonis' growing list of accolades but also reinforced his standing among the top contenders in the current live tournament scene.
Record Field and Prize Pool
The 2025 edition of the $100K Main Event drew 180 total entries, an increase from the 171 recorded the previous year. The turnout resulted in an overall prize pool of $18 million, distributed among the top finishers.
Defending champion Fought Hard For The Top Spot
Mikalai Vaskaboinikau from Belarus, the defending champion, fell short of claiming the Main Event title. He finished second after agreeing to a deal during heads-up play, earning $2,927,700. Vaskaboinikau's run was notable not only for his final placement but for his consistent performance throughout the series.

The final table featured a collection of experienced international professionals, including former Triton winners. The final nine-player line-up was as follows:

Notable Bubble Elimination
The tournament’s money bubble produced one of its most dramatic hands. Nacho Barbero, holding pocket fours, was eliminated in 32nd place by Santhosh Suvarna, who called in the big blind with 5♣6♦.
A six on the flop sealed Barbero’s fate, making him the stone bubble finisher and ending his Main Event bid without a payout. At the time, five of the last 17 players were invitees from the $200K Triton Invitational.
Lonis on Competing Away from Family
Following his win, Lonis spoke about competing at the highest levels while being away from home.
“I told my family I’d make the trip worthwhile if I was going to be away for this long,” he said. “The pressure is enormous at this level. I just try to make the right decisions.”
His victory came with both the Triton Main Event trophy and an exclusive Jacob & Co timepiece—awarded only to winners of Triton Poker Series Main Events.
A Career Moment in Montenegro
This win capped off an already successful Montenegro series for Lonis, who had captured another title earlier in the series.
With this latest result, the pro has firmly established himself as one of the most in-form players in the Triton circuit.
