World Poker Tour Announces Lineup for Second Half of Season XXII

The World Poker Tour (WPT) has revealed the schedule for the second half of 2024’s Season XXII, including eight festivals in four different continents.

The new line up includes four stops each on both the WPT Main Tour the WPT Prime Tour and sees the tours returning to previous locations and new venues. World Poker Tour CEO Adam Pliska could barely contain his excitement when revealing details of the new stops, commenting:

The announcement comes just days before the WPT Voyage sets sail for a week of poker action in the Caribbean, including both WPT Main Tour and WPT Prime Championship events. 

The first of the four WPT Main Tour festivals will be in Macau, which surprisingly has never hosted a WPT Championship event before. The inaugural WPT Macau festival is scheduled to take place from June 18-24 at the Wynn Palace, with the Main Tour Championship event running from June 20-24 and featuring an HKD 40,000 buy-in. 

After Macau and a three month summer break, the main tour resumes with a visit to The Star, Gold Coast for WPT Australia from September 12-25, where the final table of the AUD $8,000 buy-in Championship event will be live-streamed. There is a WPT Prime event at this location in April, so this will be the second WPT branded event to take place there in 2024.

In the United States, Florida will host two Main Tour stops in November, starting with the WPT bestbet Scramble in Jacksonville. This event, with a $5,000 buy-in Championship, will be followed by the WPT Seminole Hard Rock ‘N’ Roll Poker Open, which has a lower priced ($3,500 ) Championship event. Both of these will also be have live streamed final tables.

The second half of the WPT Prime Tour also includes some familiar WPT locations. It starts with WPT Prime Taiwan in August, in partnership with the Chinese Texas Hold’em Poker Association at the Asia Poker Arena. The tour then focuses on Europe with two Prime stops taking place in September. The first of these is WPT Prime UK at Dusk Till Dawn in Nottingham. The UK’s largest poker club has previously hosted WPT events, but this will be the first time that a WPT Prime event has taken place there. WPT Prime Liechtenstein, which last year set the record for WPT Prime attendance (outside Las Vegas) begins shortly after the UK event concludes.

The season will continue with WPT Prime Paris, before the prestigious WPT World Championship brings the season to a close. Full details of the end of season showstopper at Wynn Las Vegas are still to be announced.
